-The Best Hikes in Utah: Cecret Lake-

In an effort to soak in all the last bits of warm weather here in Utah, my friend and I headed up to the Albion Basin to hike to Cecret Lake- a hike we had been wanting to do forever. When we arrived, we were so sad to see that the road leading to the trailhead was closed to cars due to it supposedly snowing the night before. We were so bummed because this exact situation had happened to us last spring. After some contemplation, we decided to hike it anyway! We had planned for about 2 miles roundtrip, but we ended up hiking 7 miles since the road was closed. I wouldn’t have had it any other way! It was the most beautiful day ever! The sun was shining, we were the only people on the trail, and the mountains had the prettiest dusting of snow on them. The hike to Cecret Lake is relatively easy, but it does have a steep climb in elevation towards the end of the hike. Nothing to worry about, just something to be prepared for if you are bringing along kids 🙂 It is definitely one of the best hikes I have done in Utah! I can’t wait to do it again in the spring when all of the wildflowers are blooming in the Albion Basin.
