Cole and I drove to Bryce Canyon National Park, a place we had been wanting to visit together for a while now. When we arrived we found that we were basically the only people at the park that day. It was amazing because we had the entire place to ourselves. We drove to all of the lookout points and walked down to see some of the views up close. Various times throughout the day, we set up a tripod with a self timer so we could get photos with both of us in them. As the sun was setting, we decided to take a couple last photos before we drove home. We walked out towards the ledge and pressed the self timer, and all of a sudden Cole dropped down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was so surprised and I when I said yes, I started bawling and all I could do was hug him over and over again. He custom designed my ring, and even stayed up until 5am the night before to sanding down the ring box and hand painting it so it would be personalized. I love how unique and personal he made everything. I love him so much!
When we got back to our car, Cole showed me a globe that he had hand painted for me (how did I get so lucky to get to marry someone so talented?!) that says “And so the adventure begins”. We have always talked and dreamed about traveling and adventuring together, and the globe was the most perfect way to symbolize “our beginning”. It was the most perfect day , and I am so happy I was able to get engaged to my best friend in such a beautiful place.
